Drums

Július Petrus started his musical career at the age of 6 studying piano and then he began playing drums at the age of 14. In 1993 he graduated from the prestigious Musicians Institute in Los Angeles.

Upon graduation he returned to Slovakia and recorded and worked with a who’s who of Slovak pop, rock and jazz ensembles including: ELÁN, TEAM, Beata Dubasová, Peter Nagy, LBR, Adriena Bartošová, Juraj Burian, American Peter Cardarelli’s Comfort Zone, Hungarian guitar virtuoso Istvan Alapi, ALAPI&PETRUS PROJECT, and also appeared on local and national television in musicals such as “Nunsense”.

He has been regularly teaching drums in Summer Academy in Salgóbánya, Hungary and published a drum book called „For Drummers Only“. Recently Július has been playing and touring with different projects and bands, e.g. Croatian guitar master Darko Obadič, Illés Lajos emlékkoncert, Rock Circus, Kobold, Little Prince… Július is pleased to endorse SABIAN cymbals, PRO MARK sticks, EVANS drumheads and NATAL drums.
